Building and site sketches were prepared for the rezoning and development permit applications to the Strathcona Regional District. The drawings conform with the Quathiaski Cove Village Plan Bylaw 120. The bylaw can be viewed here.

At a community information meeting at Quadra Community Centre, QISHS presented its ideas and approach for the new residence at 688 Harper Road, and received thoughtful and enthusiastic feedback from islanders.

QISHS got the green light in the form of interim funding from BC Housing to proceed to the pre-construction design phase. In late 2016 BC Housing approved the project for funding under the Investment in Housing Innovation Program. Funding of the $3.5M project is coming from BC Housing’s low interest loan of $1.5M plus an interest free loan; QISHS equity; Canadian Mortgage and Housing’s Seed Funding Grant; and of course community donations.
